Throwback Pinterest Fail.

I decided to make these for my Daughter's 2nd birthday party:

Original Pin.

And this is how they turned out. They were an absolute PAIN IN THE ASS!

I ended up covered in melted chocolate!

30 Day Challenge!

I pretty much use Pinterest for everything now. I go there when searching for pictures. My hubby even told me he wanted wishing well plans... I put my big red cape with a P on and typed in 'Wishing well plans" as fast as I could!

So, I figured.. If I'm using Pinterest, for crafts, dinners, cleaning... why not use it for health?

I got on Pin yesterday and searched for 30 day challenge. Frankly, most of them would put me in the hospital by day 2. So i searched 30 day BEGINNER fitness challenge. These are the two I picked to do ...

So a little about me. First, I am EXTREMELY out of shape. I have 2 kids, who are 14 months apart. So I was pregnant for 16 months out of about 2 1/2 years. I gained alot of weight with my first child and had to have an emergency C-section. By the time my stomach had healed and I was allowed to exercise, I was pregnant again.

I chose to do these two, because the seem simple. Frankly, it's not like I'm going to be doing P90x. I hate exercising and don't have the energy to do so. I figured I'd start in June.

But when I woke up at 7am and everyone in my house was asleep....(which never happens) I figured today was the day. I know if I waited until June... I'd forget June 1st.. and then. 'oops.. I'll just have to wait until July...' and so on.

So I started today. Let me tell you. While it looks simple on paper, when you don't exercise.... it's not that easy. I got through the squats with almost no peroblem. Besides hearing the cartlidge in my knee (I recently injured it) crunching, it went pretty well.

I figured the push ups next where my best bet. 10 push-ups.. Really how hard can they be? Let me tell you when your holding on to an extra 78lbs above what I should be weighing... THEY"RE NOT FRICKIN' easy! I had to do girl push-ups and was out of breath by the last one.

The crunches where next and I had to those modified too. None of these would compare to the absolute horror of Planking for 20 seconds. I thought my midsection was going to break along with my elbows and feet!

I must say I felt so good AFTER doing those 4 little exercises I went for an 8 minute walk (.32mi).

Over the past couple years, spending most of them being pregnant, I've seriously altered my diet. I'm a label reader, and organic activist, and try to stay away from processed and fast foods. I've maintained the same weight I've been since I got pregnant with my daughter. So clearly they only way for me to actually LOSE weight is to get active.

I'm hoping this 30 day challenge will help light a fire under my ass. With two small children, I'm not only hurting myself but them as well.

I'll be periodically posting updates.. If I lose weight or inches, because I'm tracking all of that as well.

So wish me luck!

Where have all the pictures gone...

So Apparently when I delete pictures off my phone, they are deleted from my Google account, which deletes them from my blog. Which means the last entry you'll never see the pictures of my fancy clean tub!. So this is a test. It should be a picture of all the Goya products piled at the front door of Walmart on Cinco De Mayo.

Super Saturday!! (Corned Beef & Shower Cleaning)

So for some reason I woke up this Saturday, ready to go! No idea why. (maybe it was the sleep deprivation!)

So I decided to make my corned beef before it went bad. (thank god they're pickled or whatever... it was in my fridge FOREVER!)

This is the recipe that I used...

Of course as always.. I changed it! I didn't use the honey, with a 2 year old and a 1 year old I'm very wary about feeding them honey, even after its been cooked. I don't know what caraway seeds are so I didn't even put them in. Not a fan of cloves, so I didn't use them.. I guess it's easier to just give my recipe. :)

What I used :
2.68lb Corned Beef
1 Med Onion (Chunked)
1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar + another big splash!
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of Tastefully Simple Bold & Bossy Honey Mustard
Ground Pepper corns
1/2 small head of cabbage (wedged)
And 12 ounces of Budweiser

I followed the directions like anyone with ADHD.. Basically did what I wanted Lol.. I turned the crock pot on.. put the vinegar, sugar, and mustard together and stirred. Its amazing how the vinegar just completely broke down the sugar.. I stirred until everything was dissolved and then transferred it into a measuring cup and then followed the directions as instructed :)

And this is how it turned out. Didn't like the cabbage that much.. but the corned beef was great! Ate half of it by myself!!
I'll definitely be making it again! Even though my hubby won't eat it!

So while the corned beef was a cooking.. I figured I'd tackle the shower...

Now I have tried every cleaner under the sun for my shower.. This is what my shower looks like... CONSTANTLY..
Bleach doesn't work, comet, ajax, purple power, kaboom.. NOTHING.

So this is what i used... Here's the original link

I bought my bottle from family dollar and it was only 14 oz.. So I used 7 oz of vinegar
And clearly my tub was BAD! So i used 7 ounces of Dawn Power Clean...
I didn't read until after that you're supposed to heat the dawn. So I didn't do that. I just shook until it blended together...

Before :
During:
After:

Now mind you! I was tired at this point.. so I just took a magic eraser and WIPED everything off! This was the easiest clean ever! Worked better then any cleaner I've ever used.. Looks like I have a new Saturday cleaning routine!

Super Easy Cinnamon & Sugar Apple Chips

So after cleaning the basement and finding a ton of crafting stuff of my daughters... I decided I wanted to make something with her.

We did a ton of cleaning and I was pretty beat. I remember seeing a recipe for Apple chips.

I switched up the recipe a llittle bit. I used regular red apples we had in the fruit bowl, some dark brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.

I preheated the oven to 200° and then peeled the apples. I found a big bowl and Lauren got to pick out her spatula and spoon to mix with.

I threw the apples in her big bowl sprinkled the sugar and cinnamon and let have her way..

Of course she ate a quarter of the apples before we even got to put them in the oven.

Apparently they're gonna be a hit, because my husband came in and started eating them! He also told me I'm going to have to make these every time we buy apples now too!

I cooked them for an hour and then flipped them over and cooked them for another hour.

I found it easier to slice them while standing the apple up (basically from right to left) instead of putting the apple on its side and starting from bottom to top. So mine didn't have the petty stars. .

When they came out the thicker ones where a little chewy still. Next time I think ill use a dehydrator or try 250°. But kids loves them and so did the hubby. And an added side effect, my house smells wonderful!
